As Flying Food is an innovative project measuring the results of our activities and sharing data with all partners is key to learn and further develop the project. Project staff in Kenya and Uganda makes use of tablets to collect data and images from farmers who manage a cricket knowledge center and to submit it to a web-based dashboard, for processing and sharing. We are learning by doing, also when it comes to the monitoring system. That’s why we have recently adjusted the questionnaires for data collection among farmers. The new digital formats can be applied more easily and are adjusted to the new rearing system, based on a set of 30 stackable crates per cricket knowledge center.  First experiences in Uganda with the new formats are positive.  Resulting in weekly updates of relevant data and pictures of challenges or successes as shown in the figure below.
